Once daily for 24 weeks
0.5mg
Every other day
30 × 0.5mg
15mg total Tesofensine
The most relevant human trial dose for this exact tablet strength is 0.5mg once daily. In the 24-week phase II obesity trial, participants received 0.25mg, 0.5mg or 1mg Tesofensine once daily alongside an energy-restricted diet.[1]
Thai Anabolics has also historically used a lower-frequency practical schedule of one 0.5mg tablet every other day, particularly for customers using the 30-tablet bottle as a longer supply. The clinical trial and the Thai Anabolics practical schedule are shown separately rather than presented as the same protocol.
30-tablet option
30 Tablets
0.5mg per tablet
15mg total Tesofensine
At one tablet every other day, 30 tablets lasts approximately 60 days. At one tablet daily, it lasts 30 days.
100-tablet option
100 Tablets
0.5mg per tablet
50mg total Tesofensine
The 100-tablet bottle is the larger-value option for customers who specifically want a longer supply.
How it works
How Tesofensine Reduces Appetite
Tesofensine inhibits presynaptic reuptake of noradrenaline, dopamine and serotonin. By changing signalling through these monoamine systems in the central nervous system, Tesofensine has been studied for its effects on appetite, satiety and bodyweight.[1]
Follow-up analysis of the phase II program found a dose-dependent increase in reported satiety during treatment, and the increase in satiety was correlated with weight loss over the 24-week study period.[2]
Slim Fast is therefore fundamentally an appetite-control product. Its role is different from anabolic steroids, Clenbuterol and GLP-1 receptor agonists.
Human clinical evidence
Tesofensine 0.5mg Weight-Loss Results
The best-known Tesofensine study was a randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled phase II trial involving 203 adults with obesity. Participants received placebo or Tesofensine 0.25mg, 0.5mg or 1mg once daily for 24 weeks, together with an energy-restricted diet.[1]
| Group | 24-Week Weight Change |
|---|---|
| Diet + placebo | −2.0% |
| Tesofensine 0.25mg | 4.5 percentage points greater than placebo |
| Tesofensine 0.5mg | 9.2 percentage points greater than placebo |
| Tesofensine 1mg | 10.6 percentage points greater than placebo |
The 0.5mg result is the most directly relevant to Slim Fast because each tablet contains exactly 0.5mg. The original investigators concluded that the 0.5mg dose appeared more promising than the 1mg dose because it produced substantial weight loss with a more favorable tolerability profile, while also stating that the findings required confirmation in phase III trials.[1]
Oral tablet
Tesofensine vs Injectable Weight-Loss Products
Tesofensine is an oral small-molecule tablet. It is not a peptide and it is not a GLP-1 receptor agonist.
For customers who specifically prefer a tablet rather than an injectable product, that is one of Slim Fast’s most practical differences.
What the trial reported
Appetite, Heart Rate & Tolerability
In the 0.5mg phase II group, systolic and diastolic blood pressure did not increase significantly versus placebo, but average heart rate increased by 7.4 beats per minute at 24 weeks.[1]
The most commonly reported effects in the trial included dry mouth, nausea, constipation, hard stools, diarrhoea and insomnia.[1]

Evidence status
Tesofensine Is Still an Investigational Weight-Loss Compound
Tesofensine has meaningful human phase II data, but it should not be described as an approved obesity medication. The original phase II investigators specifically stated that the efficacy and safety findings required confirmation in phase III trials.[1]
That makes Tesofensine different from simply being an unstudied “fat burner”: there is controlled human research behind the compound, but the evidence base is not the same as a fully approved weight-management medicine.
